We started off with Painting with water....
When the Monet style art lesson was ready to go Mini Piwi added green leaves with Oil Pastels. In stead of the water colors Big sis was using Mini Piwi went with dot markers...
She 'washed' her painting with water....
The water made a great effect with the 'dots' and acted a lot like water colors with the pastels. We were all very proud of her first artist inspired Masterpiece.

Last March I saw the Monets that they have at MOMA in NYC. Pictures just cannot do them justice. Amazing. I have not explored Monet with my kindergarten class - right now we are creating portraits like Mr Picasso.
ReplyDeleteWow that would've been awesome to see! We are going to try Picasso soon too! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI never thought of adding water to the dot markers. Using the wet brush really just changes the look of it. Wonderful study!
ReplyDeleteOh, how fun!! I would have never thought about doing that, but it worked out great! Thank you for sharing at Sharing Saturday!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful post. Art is so important, and I think you did a fabulous job introducing it to your little one on her level. I'll be featuring this tomorrow on The Sunday Showcase at Train Up a Child.
ReplyDeletePretty! We use dot markers all the time but we haven't painted water over the paintings yet - we'll have to try that! :)
ReplyDeleteI love art appreciation activities for kids. Your Monet posts are wonderful! I pinned them to my Kids' Art Appreciation Pinterest Board at http://pinterest.com/debchitwood/kids-art-appreciation/
