Rainbow crayon making
While moving around furniture I discovered a lot of broken crayons, it
was time to melt them down again into some new ones. We needed some flat
crayons for leaf, coin and bark rubbings so I tried to fashion a mold
out of aluminum foil.

The Piwi's make their own Shopping ABC book
Yesterday the Piwis did an Alphabet scavanger hunt at 'The Walmart' click here for a recap.
Today I printed out the pics we took to make a little book that has Mini Piwi now carries around showing and reading to everyone. I had intended to use our usual file folder format and then I found some 5 x 7" photo books at Walmart for $2. It worked really well.

We needed more moving boxes to 'half pack'.
On our summer list to do list is 'do an ABC scavenger hunt'. It was supposed to be an all summer project but I decided to challenge the piwis to do it in Walmart instead. It took a good hour but it was actually one of least stressful visit i have ever had to Walmart. Sure we got a few odd looks but I'm sure the staff have seen stranger things.
The hunt was on as we entered the store, we looked around and took pictures of things for each letter of the alphabet. Some needed some real thought and some big hunting -like for the one single box of mini quiche we found in the freezers for the letter 'q'. Miss K was annoyed that they did don't sell 'quills'.
